  • 10:00AM-12:00PM SunnyCompost Open House:  Come explore how your food scraps transform through decomposition to enrich our urban soil.    Please bring your kitchen scraps to participate.  Some examples of compostable items are:

     

     fruit and vegetable scraps (banana and orange peels)

     non-greasy food scraps (rice, pasta, bread, cereal etc.),

     coffee grounds & filters, tea bags,

     egg and nut shells, pits,

     cut or dried flowers, houseplants and potting soil.

  • 11:00AM-12:00PM Earth Day Inspired Arts and Crafts with Unplug Kids: Use your imagination to celebrate the beauty of nature within our urban ecosystem.  Children ages 3-10 are invited to express themselves through a guided arts activity with the Unplug Kids instructors. http://www.unplugkids.com/classes/

  • 1:00PM-2:30PM GrowNYC Recycling Activities:  We can all lessen waste through simple practices. GrowNYC will show us how to be recycling Olympians through educational games.   Grownups bring your questions and kids get ready to compete in the recycling Olympics.  http://www.grownyc.org/
